In the interests of transparency I should declare that I've now signed up as an affiliate with PKR. That means that if you open a real money account there via a link on this site I get a commission. Why PKR? Because that's where I play. Poker for me is a hobby. Yes I want to win money, but first and foremost I want to enjoy the game. Having looked at many poker sites I decided PKR was the one I preferred.

In summer 2007 I started playing poker - in particular No Limit Hold 'Em (NLHE) - for real, mainly online at PKR. This blog will record my journey as I progress from beginner to... well, who knows. Perhaps I'll one day become an ace? On this blog I'll discuss my experiences and share some of the tips and ideas I pick up on how to improve my play. I have a lot to learn, so hopefully I'll have a lot to share. Remember that I am a beginner and I will get things wrong. If you use any of the suggestions on this blog then you do so at your own risk; and the risk of your chips! - Trevor
